Nominating Committee

The Nominating Committee is responsible for identifying people interested in serving during the next year as an officer or on one of several committees. 
Anyone that is interested should speak with a committee member at the "Nominating" table during one of the General Meetings held the second Wednesday of each month or you can email them.

The committee members for the year 2007 - 2008 are:

ollowing are the positions to be filled:

DUTIES
Vice President 1 Presides at meetings in the absence of the President and performs such other duties as may be assigned by the President.  The Vice President will become the president the following year.
Treasurer 1 Collects all monies due, makes deposits, pays all bills, maintains a record of all financial transactions, creates monthly reports.  Spreadsheet experience needed.
Secretary 1 Keeps minutes of all club and Board of Directors meetings, handles all Club correspondence.  Word and email knowledge needed.
Hospitality 8 Arranges and coordinates refreshments at general meetings.
Membership 4 Registers guests and new members at each meeting and  maintain a record of the club membership, handles mailings and membership handbook.  Computer knowledge needed for at least 2 members.
Group Activities 2 Coordinates all group activities, seeks new leaders if needed.  Note each activity has a seperate leader. 
Programs/Publicity 6 Arranges and publicizes programs for each of the regular monthly meetings. Arranges publicity about the club as an organization (e.g. newspaper articles, contact with realtors, chamber of commerce, etc)
Raffle 4 Secures donations of gifts or services to be raffled off at the general meetings.
Social Events 8 Arranges a monthly schedule of activities (other than the regular monthly meetings) such as entertainment, day trips, etc.

How long is the term?   1 year

How do I know what to do?    The outgoing board provides detailed instructions for each job.

How is this different from other boards?   Except for the officers, all work is done by committee and responsibilities are clearly definedThere is no pressure.

4.

When does the board meet?  One week before the general meeting.  The meetings are held at board member’s homes.
